Community Service

As dedicated stewards of safety and well-being, we extend our commitment beyond emergency response, actively engaging in meaningful community service initiatives that enrich the lives of our neighbors and support the greater good.

At the core of our community outreach efforts lies the Association of Firefighters, a pillar of organization through which many of our service projects are orchestrated. Together, we strive to uplift and empower our community through various endeavors

Investing in Education: Each year, we proudly extend a helping hand to the bright minds of tomorrow by awarding a number of bursaries to deserving high school students in our area. We believe in nurturing academic excellence and providing opportunities for the next generation to flourish.

Caring for Our Neighbors: The holiday season is a time for giving, and we embrace this spirit wholeheartedly with our annual Christmas food drive in support of the Mill Bay Food Bank. Through collective effort and generosity, we help to ensure that no family in our community goes hungry during this special time of year.

Opening Our Doors, Widening Our Hearts: One of the highlights on our calendar is our annual open house, where we throw open our doors and invite the public to meet our dedicated members and explore our equipment. This event not only fosters community connection but also provides valuable insights into fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Driving Change, One Boot at a Time: We stand in solidarity with those battling muscular dystrophy through our participation in the ‘Fill the Boot’ drive. By hitting the streets and fundraising for this noble cause, we contribute to research, support services, and advocacy efforts, making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by this condition.

At the Mill Bay Fire Department, community service is not just a duty; it’s a privilege and a passion. Together, we strive to make our corner of the world a safer, stronger, and more compassionate place for all. Join us in our journey of service, and together, let’s ignite positive change, one act of kindness at a time.

For this week until May 18th, we will be collecting bottles by drop off at our Firehall to support the Francis Kelsey Secondary School Kieran Harper Memorial Scholarship.
