5th. |
NOTE: Fire Department Burning Permits are No longer
required until May 2010 for Category 1 fires.
(small fire for burning waste material not exceeding 2
metres in height and 3 metres in diameter) |

Smoke and Burning Complaints
Smoke complaints and or air quality issues
due to backyard burning fall under the jurisdiction of the
Cowichan Valley Regional District,
not
the local fire department.
Air quality issues due to backyard burning should be forwarded
to the CVRD at 746-2500
In the event of backyard burning complains,
Residents
should only contact 911 or the fire department in the event of
an actual emergency.
